Annapurna Base Camp
Annapurna Base Camp Trekking is one of the most beautiful trekking routes of Nepal that takes you to the foot of the Mt. Annapurna which is at the altitude of 4210m.The Annapurna Conservation Area or Annapurna region is one of the most popular and sought trekking destination of Nepal. This area covers most part of western development region of Nepal around Annapurna Mountain Range. It includes Annapurna I, II, III, IV, Mt. Dhaulagiri, and Machhapuchhre, and several other peaks.
Mount Annapurna is the 10th highest mountain of the world and 8th highest of Nepal which is 8091m high. This trek is moderate type of trek. As the temperature and climate is moderate, trekking can be performed throughout the year. It takes around two weeks to finish this adventure. It offers the magnificent scenery and supreme cultures of different ethnic groups including Gurung, Magar, Tamang etc. After 45 minutes drive from Pokhara, you will reach to Nayapul (new bridge) from where the trail of Annapurna Base Camp Trek starts. The trail passes through different villages, forest, waterfalls. From Nayapul you start your walk on the river bank of Modi River and then ascend uphill. The vistas of snow capped mountain with a marvelous range of flora and fauna including dazzling rhododendron forest gives you the unforgettable ecstasy. The major attractions of this trek are unique culture of Gurungs and Magars. Ghandruk, Poon Hill villages are the good view points to see major mountains of the Annapurna Range. Along with the trek to Annapurna Base Camp, you also get chance to visit the lake city Pokhara.
